Native Animal Rescue and our Black Cockatoo Team are excited to announce the arrival of our first Forrest Red Tail Black Cockatoo chick.

Hatched on Thursday the 7th of July the chick is now two weeks old and both mum and chick are doing fine.

For the past two week our Black Cockatoo volunteers have been monitoring the progress and were able to capture some special moments without disturbing them. The chicks eyes are now open and making little squawking noises.

The chick now has plenty of aunties and uncles within the team and Jaylin, our Black Cockatoo Coordinator, and Mike, our Black Cockatoo Team Leader, have been dubbed grandparents around NAR.

Well done to everyone on the Black Cockatoo Team. The effort you put in for our birds every day comes with rewards and this is a special one.
